Sahara Hayes was elected in 2022 to represent Utah’s House District 32, which includes parts of Millcreek, Salt Lake City, and South Salt Lake. In her first year in the legislature she fought for the rights of transgender youth, supported initiatives to help the Great Salt Lake, and unanimously passed gun legislation aimed at reducing youth suicide. She serves on the House Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice and Government Operations committees, as well as the Business, Economic Development, and Labor appropriations committee.
